Hiya

Thats a good buy as L numbers can knock out at £20+

Look at planet catfish - if compatable with your tank - i would go for it

Looks a lovely catfish and would add a stunning centre piece to your tank!!!!

What part of the GB are u from selling L numbers at that price?

The cheapist I obtained was a candy stripe from my LFS for £10 - he was "second hand" and the LFS did not know what he was - so sold him cheap - a bargain for me!!! - he's a beauty!!!

Best regards

Dave

You wanna speak to Jason, I think I got a load of info off him when I was contemplating whether to buy one, never did in end but wish I did sometimes.

A very nice Plec that is found in Brazil and Peru I think, grow about 5-6 inches and eat meaty foods mainky like bloodworm.

That is just from memory mind so don`t expect it to be 100% correct

Unlike most peckoltia, it is not a preferred protein eater, well, at least not entirely. Vegetable matter should be provided, and should be treated in almost every respect as a memeber of the genus ancistomus, which is where I believe it belongs, anyways. This being said they enjoy mild current, well areated water, and are found throughout the SA terrain; which is why it is often assumed that this species actually consists of several invidivdual species. They reach around 6.5-7", though 6" is a better estimate of your average aquarium specimen.

how big is the big tank? I've had my L75 in as small as a 29 with a bristlenose with no problems. The L75 in my experience isn't a very territorial plec. I've kept it in a 55, 75 and 150 with several other plecs with no problem. In fact, it was in my 55 for quite some time with about 8 small bristlenose, and another plec that may just be another L75.

either way I'd definitely get it. it shouldn't be too hard to find a tank that it would fit into and it would make a beautiful addition.

I wanted to add that my L75 seems to prefer sinking shrimp pellets over any other food I've fed them.

They are very peaceful for loricariids, but are fairly easily frightened prior to being settled, resulting in a mad dash for cover; hence, the ancistrus might be spooked.
