i have to sets of clown loach(in different tanks, b/c of sizes.) anyway the larger set, seems to be fine, but the smaller set of youngseters(around 1.5-2 inch) are more aggressive.

this can be b/c of completely different tankmates, and tankset-up's etc.

but are younger clown loaches killers, seeing how i being noticing lately that they have been bothering other fish, and fin them consuming them.

I have not known clowns to be aggressive. I keep them with one large angels with very big fins and there is not a tear in the fin. I have small clowns from about an inch and a half to over 4 inches.

i think the bigger the group of clowns, the more likely there is to be aggression, but mine never bother other fish so that seems weird. Perhaps the smaller clowns haven't sorted out their differences, but the bigger adults have??

There is an amazing video of clown loaches fighting on http://www.loaches.com that you should watch.

P.s. moderators I am sorry i referred to another site!

I haven't notices that my clowns are violentof course mine chase their reflections constantly up and down, side to side on the tank:%)

But, Chris just like your loved bettas, each clown is different...maybe try giving them more hiding places, and change the feeding up a bit and see if that helps...worst comes to worst move them to another tank...

Best of luck, heidi

Well that depends on how big the tanks are.
I have a friend and he had 1 clown loach and some other smaller fish..can't remember what kind it was.
He called me one day and said that 6 of his fish are dead and he noticed the clown loach did it.
Well i said to him that his tank was to small to have those fish in.he had a 25-35g tank. The only fish left in that tank is the clown loach.i said to him to give it to me(at least i have a bigger tank 75g)..but he refuses

I know human beings and fish can co-exist peacefully.

I have 3 4-5inch clown loaches in my American Cichlid tank and I have seen my biggest clown loach eat a feeder fish on 2 seperate occasions. Never heard of it before. He also likes to pick up pieces of gravel and spit them at other fish...funny stuff to see.

Oh Chris I'm sorry:#(
I sometimes wish we could pull them from the water, spank them, and put them in a corner for a little bit to think about what they did
Mine are wooses and are such that they are in the same tank as the metae are that are breeding
Wish mine were a bit more adamant and would eat more snails and the leeches, though if it made them more aggressive and they'd start after the fish they'd have to find a new home as well...

Sorry about the loss Chris

Oh, I am so sorry for you Chris. If I were in the US, I would have gladly taken them off your hands.

May the little gourami rest in peace.

What size is the tank? All loaches have the potential to become aggressive if they feel like they do not have enough room.
