im looking to fill the bottom of my tank and i think ive narrowed i down to the banjo cat & yoyo loaches. but ive heard that yoyo's can be extremly aggressive. and that the banjo never moves. will these guys be okay in a 20g or will they get to big and aggresive?
thanks

Yoyo loaches aren't aggressive at all. You might be confusing them with some other loach species, such as skunks. Yoyos are great fish, and very peaceful. A trio of yoyo loaches would be just fine in a twenty gallon tank.

What other fish are in there, or what are you planning to put in there?

yoyos have personality like any other fish, there arebad apples. with that said for the most part they arnt agressive and ive been watching mine and i think its more curiousity. any agression ive seen usually is toward the other yoyos in the tank.

agreed. watching my yo-yos, they only show "aggression" towards eachother. occasionally two of mine will "fight" over a certain nook under one of my driftwood pieces. they'll turn extremely pale and swim rapidly around eachother, even doing this sort of shimmy. After a while, one gets chased away and all is well. Never bothered the h. rasboras or the BN though. i wouldnt call them aggerssive fish by any means

while feeding i see mine go into a frenzy of search and devour. they grab anything moveing in the tank includeing neons. they start picking off food floating around and a neon is in view they swim right up to it and just before i think the neon is toast he turns real sharp in another direction. like to say oops thats not food lol.

other then that they chase each other all over the place grabbin ay each other tails or diving under eahc other. kinda funny to watch. i havent seen any harm done by all this "agression" so i think its just play or ranking.

in short, they dont bother my tiny neons so i doubt you have anything to worry about.

i just picked up 2 banjo cats the other day...these creatures are nocturnal mainly. Which of course means they are like the night time clean up crew. I occasionally see them moving around during the day as well but its funny watching them trying to hide under the gravel as well. Yoyo loaches are awsome as well, but everyone and their mom has those now it seems
