I was wanting a colourful bottom feeder. Can anyone tell my if bochis (sometimes called emerald cory) will eat my plants. Also, could I buy just the one or do they need company with same.

Brochis spendens, like all members of Callichthydae, are primarily carnivorus. They should not damage your plants at all, but they do have a habit of digging in the bottom a bit (make sure your plants are well-rooted).

All Brochis species are shoaling, so you should get six or more of them if you want them to show their best behavior.

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.

I used to keep brochis splendens, and while not true cories, they are an excellent bottom feeder choice. I would certainly have at least six in my tank, as they are happier in groups of six or more. If the b. splendens I formerly kept ever did dig, I must have missed it. Also, most members of the family Callichthyidae are actually omnivores, as are most other catfish. Most of their profiles show that they are omnivores, including some that Natalie sent in.

And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."
