Well... bottom feeders and algae eaters are generally two different things. Most algae eaters that I know of don't feed off the bottom, except for like... algae wafers and the like.

Cories are great bottomfeeders. Fun to watch and great cleaners. In a tank that size, you could have a sizeable school of them and watch the antics.

Plecos are huge poop machines. Ottos might work for you algae, but they're delicate, and need to be added to a settled tank.

hahhaha yeh totally agree with Kitten - i'm so imaginin a school of 15 cories all swimmin like mad....or a small group of dianemas urostriatum....but then bein a cory/catfish nut....i'dve either bought a shallower tank...or since its too late in ur case to change the tank....inhabit it with bottomfeeders...and juzz use either neons or guppies to occupy the top-layers of hte tnak, while giving it some lovely colouring too

That piece of wood looks as if it's going to make a fine hiding place for whatever bottom feeders you do eventually choose.

Oh, and if you exercise care when introducing them, you can make Otocinclus your first fish. I did this way back in 1994 with the Panda Fun Palace™ in the days before I even knew there was such a thing as a Panda Catfish. However, if you do choose Otocinclus, exercise patience and care, and acclimatise them slowly. Which leads me nicely to the obligatory 'point to shiny new Otocinclus article' part of my post

I was thinking to buy some corydoras (panda) and a pleco.
What pleco would be the best choice?

Corydoras are lovely bottom feeders but don't eat Algae.
Otos eat Algae but are quite delicate.
BN are very good Algae eaters, but they Poo alot.

Siamese Algae Eaters are excellent at eating algae (they are one of the few fish that will even gorge itself on hair algae), and being barbs, they produce very little waste for their size and the amount they eat.

But the downside is that because they are so efficient at digesting their food (less poop), they have tons and tons of energy. Mine are constantly darting around the tank and chasing each other. This activity will probably intimidate your plecos and cause them to hide constantly.

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.
