Is a BN also called a madusa pleco? Today i was at the lfs to get a bn and I saw they but they called them madusa plecos which i never heard them called that before!? And about how much do they usually run in price, im thinking they made a mistake when i was checkin out. They charged me 31 dollars! thanks for any responses.

The medusa pleco is a species of bristlenose, though sometimes fish stores do use the label incorrectly. These guys grow larger than the average bristlenose, topping out at six to seven inches. If you did indeed buy a true medusa plec, then the price sounds about right. They aren't that common, and are usually priced in the same range as other non-common plecos. Your money was well-spent, in my opinion.
