I'm not exactly sure of the conversion but I would say that yes it is good. I've seen a 3-4" bristle nose sell for $30 (USD). Regardless, IMO it's worth it.

It is best to shop around, the shop I brought my pleccy from is not the cheapest, however the quality of the fish are VERY good indeed. Having said that the price of the fish won't tell you anything about its health. I live in leicester, so around 2.50-4.50 is the average here.

Perky,

Wow you have a good LFS. The ones near us arent that big so we doont get lots of uncommon fish.

Your common plec price seems about right.

Black Ghost Knifefish, Siamese Algae Eaters ,Fire Eel we dont have them around here.

We sometimes have the odd angelfish here and there and the price seems roughly the same.

Neon tetras price is basically identical except we dont have sales.

Royal plecs and green plecs are unheard of round here so i dont have a price.
However we do get sometimes more uncommon plecs sometimes like a golden nugget and a sailfin pleco.(not really uncommon though)

Dont have bettas either round here.(apart frpm pets at home
)

Red bellied Piranhas are not common around here either.

We do have clown loaches though if i remember correctly our prices are a bit cheaper.

Spiny eel

Although we do have a Maindenhead aquatics which has a far more bigger selection of fish. its a little bit further drive from us than our small LFS so we dont go that often. Believe it or not i dont rememver seeing any bettas there either last time i went.

Talking about Gold Nuggets, 30 for a 4-5 inch one. Remember there are different species of Gold Nuggets, 4 (or is it 5) to be excact so prices could vary quite a bit depending on each species.

A Spiny Eel is just a spiny eel. If you look on this site you should find plenty of posts about them.

You said your prices for the Clown Loach where a bit cheaper, I think I may have been out as well. I think it is 5 each or 12 for 3 but I dunno really. Ain`t bought any or ages so I dunno to be excact.

My LFS does have 3 Discus at around 3inches for sale at 30 (so 10 per Discuc). The only problem is I dunno what species they are.

Another price I know is:
Pearl Arrowana - 6 inches - 80-100
The price changes everytime they get another in, and no, they don`t get loads in weekly as that is what it sounds like, around here we do have a lot of people who collect big fish such as Arrowanas, Rip Saw Catfish, Giraffe Catfish, Shovelnoses, Red Tailed Catfish, Giant Gourami and Mbu Puffers.
