will the loaches be effected by he crayfish?

i know they are bottom dwellers and rest on bottom , play dead etc. im wondering if that will pose a problem for them being hunted down by the crayfish.

thanks in advance

The Crayfish will get a hold on the Loaches if it can.

We had a Crayfish for a little while. There was a disturbance, I looked over at the tank and the Pleco was bumping into eveything trying to dislodge the Cray. It had him by the snout with both pincers.

The Pleco was able to escape but he was twice the size of the cray. The Cray went back to the pond.

You're planning to get the clown loaches? If they are large enough and the crawdad is small enough, they will be able to coexist. You would need clown loaches that were several inches long for that, though. If you wanted to get small clown loaches, Mike is right. The crawdad would make things bad for the poor loaches, possibly consuming them.

If you are planning to get clown loaches, just keep in mind that they get pretty large. Fully grown clowns can top a foot in length, though they take many years to do so. Still, plan for the future!

And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."

Actually, if the crayfish is too small to eat the loaches, then then loaches are going to eat the crayfish. Loaches love to eat shelled animals such as snails and shrimp, and they will not hesitate to kill eat a crayfish if they can.

Basically, clown loaches and crayfish just aren't campatible.

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.

i just put the cray in the tank with the loaches.

my loaches are about 2.5 to 3 inches i got 4 of em..

the crayfish hides alot more than previous ones i have kept in other tanks w/out the clowns, he doesnt seem to be a threat to the loaches, he will prolly get beaten to death, either way he is prolly gonna find a new home

the crayfish will try to catch hte loach if it can...what htey cray'll do is it'll most likely hide in a dark place, and when an unlucky loach swims past, it'll snatch the loach using its strong pincers...hahaha bye bye loach
