There was a disturbance, I looked over at the tank and the Pleco was bumping into eveything trying to dislodge the Cray. It had him by the snout with both pincers. The Pleco was able to escape but he was twice the size of the cray. The Cray went back to the pond. Mike |

If they are large enough and the crawdad is small enough, they will be able to coexist. You would need clown loaches that were several inches long for that, though. If you wanted to get small clown loaches, Mike is right. The crawdad would make things bad for the poor loaches, possibly consuming them. If you are planning to get clown loaches, just keep in mind that they get pretty large. Fully grown clowns can top a foot in length, though they take many years to do so. Still, plan for the future! |

Loaches love to eat shelled animals such as snails and shrimp, and they will not hesitate to kill eat a crayfish if they can. Basically, clown loaches and crayfish just aren't campatible. ![]() I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash. |
