i have had some clown loaches b4 but it was a long time ago. i was thinking about getting some and i was wondering can i put them in my 55 gallon with some oranged tailed loaches or not a good idea.

Thery grow to 12" long, far too large for anything less than 125 gallons.

Not to go against anyone's opinions here, but I have heard that the clown loach does not necessarily grow to be that large in captivity. If you have any questions about the clown loach, I would shoot "garyroland" a PM and ask him any questions you may have because he is an expert.

I've seen a family of 16inch clown loaches at a public aquarium, they do get that big when properly cared for.

In addition to that, they do need a 125g aquarium, so 55g will not work.

really i havn't even heard that they can get that big. i have seen really large ones but not that big. so can they coexist with other loaches.

Clown loaches are active and schoolers, so 6+
Those are also reasons why a large tank is needed for 10"+ clown loaches
