I know that the cories will go well with the clown loaches, you could have a very large school of them. I think twenty would be too many clown loaches, especially if you want other fish. Maybe go with 12 or so, though I'm sure someone will come along behind me and give you a better answer. I know for the cories, that you could have at least two large schools of 15-20 fish, each school being a different species of corydoras.

20 clown loaches is way too much.

I think a school is 8 would be great... you could probably fit a few more in too.

Thanks for all the answers

I will go for 10 clowns, but would it be wise to get 3-4 Silver Sharks (Balantiocheilus melanopterus), or maybe 10 Rasboa borapetensis and 10 Brachydanio rerio and a school af 10 Corydoras aeneus.

At first you claimed there would only be Clown Loaches in it...

Then in successive posts you stated that other fish would be in the tank also.

If you decide on the Clowns only, at least 30 small to medium Clowns will do fine since they're real slow growers.

That tank size would hold even more.

Twelve clown loaches is the maximum number you'll want to put in your tank. Don't worry if they seem small now, they'll grow out of it.
