little fish![]() Fingerling Posts: 40 Votes: 2 Registered: 21-Sep-2005 ![]() ![]() | I have two false julii cories in a twenty gallon tank. I realize they would be happier if I had more, and I hope to get some more soon, but I thought it might be nice to spice up my life a little and get a different variety. Do different types of cories get along with each other, and if so, will they be happy in schools made up of different varieties, or do they prefer schools of their own type? |

These fish are extremely social and will make the best of the situation if they're forced to house with other types, but again, cories fare best in schools of their own species. |

Posts: 2266 Kudos: 2194 Votes: 19 Registered: 18-Nov-2003 ![]() ![]() | While it is better to have a single group of one type, different types of cories will school together... it's not ideal however. Like heidi, I have a very mixed school. I fully INTENDED to have one school of one type of cory... I wind up saving the "lonely" cories left alone at my LFS, however. Figure they're better off in my tank with other cory buddies than all alone in the LFS. *shrugs* In any case, I wouldn't deliberately run out to get a mixed school unless I couldn't find anymore of the cories I had in the first place. Can't find any pictures... I'll grab one tomorrow morning if I can... ~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~ |
