It is suggested that you buy all of the same kind. The cories will reconize each other and feel more comfortable with their own kind. However, since you are purchasing 8, you might be able to bend the rules a bit. If you are set on housing two different species together, then they have to either be realted, look similar, or come from the same biotope. I'm not sure what are good examples, as I am not a cory expert by any strech of the imagination. However, pandas have white in them and albinos are all white. So, you might be able to get away with 4 of each of these.

pandas are adorable google it

but i have 3 diff species of cory atm and all for good reason

3 schwartzi- only 3 they had, and havent gotten any sence

3 elegans- again only 3 they had, havent gotton any more yet

4 bronze- not mine they are my sisters, but im working on giving them back... i dont want them to live in an over stocked 10 gallon holding: 1 bronze cory (the reason i want them back in there) a GOLDFISH!! some kind of tetra resembling a bleeding heart in body shape a male betta, a sizzor tail rasbora, an albino buenos ares tetra(yuk!)a minnow, a blood fin tetra, and a glow ligh i think (very attractive) and to top it off there are planaria floating all around the tank but when i looked in, i saw the betta and sizor tail munching on them, so i guess its live food and theres no talking her out of getting rid of them but i think i got her to get a 20 gallon but the sad thing is, it too is filled with goldies but hopoefully when she gets it, i can have a pond all set up for them before i find them a new home

but my corys are very happy i even had my schwartzi breed once that i know of

It's better to get 8 all the same, as they'll school together & you'll have a tankfull of entertainment.
