I have right now two emerald cories, if I got some different ones, say panda cories, and I had six, would they still all hang out with each other, or divide into schools by species? I've heard people arguing about this, so I'm not sure.

They'll "hang together" but it's out of fear. Basically, if you had good-sized schools of each species, they'd segregate themselves. Schooling and shoaling are very visual - hence the distinctive colors and patterns we all love so well - and two different cory species won't school or shoal together if a number of their own type are available. From that it's pretty easy to deduce that keeping adequate schools of each species is the way to go for the good of the fish, so stick with your emeralds. They're a great species in any case!

Cories shoal visually. Occasionally similar species may stay near each other, but usually it is rare (as always there are exceptions in individual cases). Pandas and emeralds most likely would not shoal together.

Thanks...
I guess that means that cory shoals are exclusive. Strange little guys, but cool nonetheless.

As mentioned above, they seem to stick to their own kind or with others that are similar in colouration.
