what is the highest temperature corys are happy in, i have a community tank with corys and discus and would like ro raise the temperature a few degrees.
i have metae, panda and peppered corys.
current temerature is 27c, i would like to go to 29-30c if the corys would take it but ive heard they dont like it too warm.

It varies with the species. Those you are currently keeping are not fit for living in temperatures preferred by discus.

Agreed. The tank's current temperature is at the maximum tolerance level for your three Corydoras species. Panda cories in particular prefer lower temps; twenty-four degrees C is about right for them.

I agree sirbooks that temp is what I keep my panda's at though I have kept them up to 80F or 27C but I lowered it as they became less active. Just be careful if you change the temp as panda's are very sensitive to temp differences of even 1 or 2F.

thanks guys, that confirms exactly what i thought. especially the pandas, i maybe pushing it a bit even at 27c but they seem happy and the discus seem ok at that so i will leave well alone.
should i get problems i will have to look into rehouseing the discus.
thanks

the corys are all very happy - especially the pandas, they are all over the place. in the plants, on the rocks, piling on top of each other etc. think they are ok cos that is the temp they have always been in, so are acclimatised to it

Corydoras like lower temperatures (about 24), but at 27 celcius they'll be fine. I think that they will be affected, when the temperatures is more than 30 celcius.

I had some deaths in the summer months when the temperature is 32/34 celcius.

Peppered and Bronze Corys can survive fairly well at Discus aquarium temperatures, but the Pandas? Nope. 28°C is an absolute upper limit for the adults in my experience, and 23°C is MUCH preferred ... which of course is completely ruled out in a Discus aquarium.
