devon7![]() Big Fish Posts: 475 Kudos: 356 Votes: 4 Registered: 31-Aug-2004 ![]() ![]() | I dont think they stay 3"... probably 12+" try looking up Polypterus palmas, i believe this is the fish associated with the name "dinosaur eel," maybe not that specific species because fish stores are bad about that labeling stuff, but its definitely a bichir ![]() cool fish, i've never even seen one in person before so its cool your fish store has them! but i think need relatively big tank if I'm correct |

mariosim![]() Enthusiast Posts: 207 Kudos: 245 Votes: 20 Registered: 28-Jul-2004 ![]() ![]() | thanks for the quick replies!! i rooted around using your leads, and it does appear to be a bichir of sorts. good thing i am not into impulse buying. they are only $5.99 and look really cool. unfortunatley, i do not have a large enough species tank for one of them. is petsmart trending towards loaches/eels as of late? the one here now carries dragonfish, peacock eels, weather loaches (including the golden), dinasaur eels, and kuhlis. they range in price from $1.49 to $11.99. good prices if you know what you are buying. |
