Ottos are my choice, but pitbull plecos are the best.

I really like ottos...they're great algae eaters and will eat many kinds of algae (many plecos will only eat brown algae and maybe a few other sorts)

I'd like to get about 10 more ottos for my 29g, but I don't have enough algae to feed them

Otos are really cute and great algae eaters. Also, they are cheaper at my store compaired to all the other ones. Anyway, otos are GREAT fish and I have never really had any problems with them.

I like otos as well but I think BNs are hardier and one would look better in a 29g.

I would definintly go with ottos. And make sure you have algae already in there for them. If not ottos go with clown plec.
Good luck Nick

I'm setting up a 29 gallon South American tank, and I need a little help. I have five lemon tetras so far, with plans to add one more, then add six panda cories, and an angelfish. I know I have a little room left, and I wanted more catfish, maybe one (or some) that eats algae. So far, the fish I'm deciding between are: ottos, a bn cat, a clown pleco, or a bulldog pleco. Any opinions are of course welcome.

The only reason I voted for ottos is because I just like ottos more then plecos. But, any of the choices would be fine.

I know the clowns don't eat algae, but I'm considering them anyway. I don't really have any algae, I just want the fish. Algae wafers and other supplements would be fed, of course. I have looked up each fish in depth, so don't think I don't know what I'm getting myself into.

Best mix of something that definitely makes a statement visually and something that'll also clean up algae. The Clown is likely to skip the algae, the Rubbernose is a little small to be much of a "display" fish, the otos are effective but not worth the trouble IME, and you don't have enough room for my personal fav, a school of SAEs.
