No funny remarks or replies...Ok I've had a school of emerald catfish, Started with 6 of them and have lost 2 to unknown causes. The remaining 4 are fine but I have a question about 1 of them. HES TINY!, about the size I bought him at....and the other 3 are about 3X his size? Is he just a "runt" or is there some sort of problem with him. FYI I haven't noticed anything wrong with them, I have just noticed how the other 3 have grown so much and 1 hasn't, and is has driven my curiousity. Thanks for the replies in advance.

Was he from the same batch as all the others? And were they all roughly the same size when you bought him? Is it possible that he's not getting fed properly?

I'm not aware of a disease or condition that does this, I'd say if he's eating healthy, that he might just be small. Heck, I'm small, and I have a big appetite.

You've got me interested now...*googles*

Well they were all purchased at the same time from my LPS. I guess it would be possible they mixed up a couple of shipments together. But they all get enough to eat, no doubt there, and yes they were approx all the same size. It's weird.:%)

It may be he is bottom of the pecking order so he gets fed less and also he grows slower due to being bottom of the pecking order, therefore making him the weakest. He should be fine though if he doesn`t show any signs of disease

Ok I got some pics and although I didn't get them next to each other, you can't estimate the size difference by the gravel size. It is consistent throughout the tank. The 3 that are together are the "big" ones and the one by itself is the "runt". WIERD!

The runt looks awfully like an anneus. But maybe I'm just paranoid. Also, I'd keep an eye on that CAE, in case he starts getting a bit mean.
