Okay, so I got my dojo about a week ago. I was worried that he wasn't eating and finally stayed up and watched him until 4 a.m. and was excited to see that he was. He is absolutely hilarious to watch; I just wish I didn't have to lose sleep watching him. Will he ever come out during the day or is he primarily nocturnal?

well mine are out and about at all times of day. and have never been nocturnal.even when i just had one.

is your tank REALLy bright? does the dojo have any hiding spots? Mine are in a planted tank, with tons of hiding spots, and they are out and romping about most of the day.

i see mine all day too, and I do have a bright tank. They mostly hang out right in the very front of the tank cuddled up together on a leaf or against the glass.
They are not at all shy. Perhaps yours is new and needs more time to settle in?

Time will do it. I was so worried for my dojo that he wasnt eating/getting enough food. I started feeding him after the lights are out. then i did it one day while they were on and to my surprise he ate some! all the other fish crowded around for the "extra" shrimp that came out his gills. He sadly died a little bit ago. but was one of my fav fishies.
