I can't fully remember, but I believe I have kept them with yellow labs. As for other eels, the Lake Tanganyika eels will work just fine. I have never really been interested in the eels, but have seen many a Malawian tank with the Tanganyika eels in them. There is always a bigger fish... |

Not just veggie foods. In fact the only fish I have ever given a staple diet of veggie foods, was my tropheus. All the other fish, including all my Mbuna, always get TetraPro Crisps. And I even fed them frozen brine and freeze dried plankton on occassions (about once a week). I never had any problem with them on this diet. Now not all I know of feed the same thing I do, but they do feed a more rounded diet, than a veggie diet. There is always a bigger fish... |

Your problem, rather, will be ensuring that your Eel gets enough of the animal-ba Among the Eels you can look out for that are found in the Rift Lakes is Aethiomastacembelus ellipsifer, a Tanganyikan species. It's likely to be pretty rare, though, and probably a special order species. Go hunt whatever info you can find on its requirements before committing yourself to a potentially very expensive purchase! |
