i was doing some reading() and i read that flying foxes shouldn't be kept together. i was at my lfs on friday and i saw flying foxes housed together with no problems. where these fish mis labled? or can i get some as bottom fishes for my tank.

Well, juvies in a large group aren't going to act like adults in a small group. If they were actually Flying Foxes (remember these species are often - almost always, in fact - mislabelled), then, yes, they ought to be bought singly. If they're SAEs, on the other hand, you would definitely want a group.
