Depends on where you're getting them. Some breeder has a PU only stock of 75 pounds a piece on PC.

Wen u do, keep zebra loaches and skunk loaches in mind. Zebras are more friendly and day time loaches. Skunks are very nocturnal.

Oh, btw, when fish go missing, u kno who did it

we know this now, we were told by the lfs he would only rewach about 4 inchs, we now realise that he will be closer to 10+ inches, far too big for the tank he is in so when he gets a little bigger we will take him to the lfs and credit him for some smaller species.
he gets on fine with the serpae at the moment.

NO, THIS CAN'T BE TRUE. Your Botia Modesta is a very aggressive loach, that will grow very large, upto 12 inches or more. He is very territorial and will not hesitate to kill smaller fish if required.

at the moment we have a botia modesta in there with them, approx 3inch in size.
noly trouble is he wont come out at all unless its dark, guess he is a bit too nocturnal.

Yup, I have 5 of them with my clown loaches. Can hold their own against the big boys. Will not go out of their way to nip the tetras and will not take any nipping. Another good option would be the kuhli, but if ur tetras are nippy, they might easily want to have kuhlies for a tasty snack.

Go with the zebras, they make a good school too

I have 6 zebra loaches in with my 6 serpaes and they get along just fine. As clownygirl said they are cute and stay small. Also good bottom feeders.

if u want a group of counter nippers, go for the half banded loach i had a loanly loach in a 10 gallon, that would go out of its way to nip a betta]:|

but when i got the fish for a driend, i dident know 10it was schooling, 20 i was told the wrong species, it was that or a weather loach (which looked similar to this loach)

the fish r good, and the prices r ok, but the knowledge can use some updating

I would suggest a zebra loach, fairly hardy, and stays small. Will grow to a max of 3 inches, and is quite sociable. Keep a small group of 3.

Seems like breeding them is like printing money.

I know it's a mercenary way to view our beloved pets, but if they can pay for themselves and your vacation...what the heck.

I was just on aquabid.com and saw three baby zebras going for $187.

Here's the link: http://www.aquabid.com/cgi-bin/auction/auction.cgi?fwcatfish&1118532027

I will gladly pay you twice that much via pay pal or something if you could obtain a specimen for me.

It’s just a month ago, I inquired here in my lfs in cebu. The petstore owner said I can get you for P2000 peso ea. if you want. Have you tried to inquire in a specific place here in phils.? I’m from cebu city, and my lfs here is not exporter.

Actually I didn’t buy it because for me it’s too expensive (P2000 peso) I can buy 100 metallic gold balloon mollies/assorted for P20 peso ea. from my local breeder for that amount and I’m not in need of that pleco and can go with an ordinary plecs instead or cats.

Well, it’s just meh, though.

i need suggestions for a bottom feeder (or small enough school) to go in a 15g with 4 very nippy serpae tetra.
cant really consider inverts because the tank has been treated recently for whitespot and will probably have residual copper present. but we are open to any suggestions, fish or critter.

I don't believe it: I was inquiring several philippine-based exporters about L-236 prices, which are NOWHERE NEAR as costly as zebras; they were 120 U.S. they said L-46 prices were pending.

Unless you actually buy one+pics, or send one my way , then I will have to disagree.

Here in phils it's worth P2000.00 pesos.

...and $1 dollar = P54.75 peso.

...that's only $36.52 US Dollars.

...just sharing our price though.
