hey guys, my clown loach's find is turning red, i was talkin to someone in chat that said like if their top fin was red, they are form like borneo, and if it wasnt red, they were from somewhere else.

I sent a pic, and they said it was from the other place, but now his fin is mysteriously turning red at the tip.

So, what made the change? I guess we will never know where he came from.

I will try to get a pic, but it is very faint.

I have been feeding them the same food for a few months now (ecept about a month ago i fed them some tetramin color enhansing pellets) do u think feeding it to them ONCE made this happen?

i would say no. some animals like the flamingo become pink from eatting brine shrimp, but i dont think that the food would change them. i think it comes with age, i have 6 clowns and only 1 of them has alittle red on there dorsal. it can also just be the color of that fish, or have been altered in some way.

Well, the food increases redness in the fish, aso that is why i figures it was the food.

OT* i just looked in my dads tank, and his big clown loach (8-9" was layin on his side, and in the middle of the tank, the smallest clown in that tank (maby an inch long)was laying on his side... i just trhought that was cool since the smaller ones dont normally lay on their side as much as the bigger ones.

Prolly coz the bigger ones eat a lot more, and then need to lie on their side to digest it all????

could be nitrate poisoning, if you havent changed water for awhile the fins start turing red, or if you havent stired the gravel could also turn the fins red.

i highly doubt it was nitrate posioning, since it is only 1 of the loaches, and it is moderatly planted.

Acually, i did a water cxange on it today.
