I have queen loaches (Botia dario), dwarf loaches (B. sidthimunki), kuhlis (Pangio kuhlii), and black kuhlis (P. javanicus).

Most loaches like friends. Dwarf loaches are interesting because at times they almost school; they also spend as much time mid-tank as they do on the bottom. Kuhlis can get into the smallest places. They also like wrapping themselves around plant stems and airline tubes. When first added to a tank they tend to be shy and mostly seen at night but when adjusted and more comfortable they can be frequently seen during the day as well.
