While working on another tank I noticed my female panda died The male wasn't doing much and I know cories like company, so I moved him to another tank where I have 5 trilineatus cories. They've been together for a very long time, will they accept him and let him hang out with them? I feel bad for the poor little guy

He'll do better there than all on his lonesome. That is of course untul you can afford some Panda playmates for him

If the aquarium with the trilineatus has sufficient space, you could always put new Panda playmates in there alongside them. Pandas and trilineatus playing 'Kamikaze dive bomb the airstone bubbles' the way Heidi's habrosus do will be fun to watch

Of course you did the right thing. Cories are very social fish as you know, and pretty much crave company. They do prefer to hang out in shoals of their own species, this is true. However, they don't mind socializing with other species in a pinch.

I have found a bit of an exception to that rule, though. My tank has four different Corydoras species in it, five of one, and one each of the rest. I've noticed that if there is one cory of a species and several of another, the lone cory will only hang with the others frequently if they are similar in size. My lone guapore cory is the only one that plays with my septentrionalis much, the others sort of do their own thing.

And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."

Pandas and Three-Lined corys are two closely related species, so they will hang out together just fine.

My single specimen corys, as well as the corys that have "sufficient" numbers (6 or more), behave exactly the same and they all hang out with each other. Even the species that have large numbers do not isolate themselves from the rest of the corys.
