Six cories (5 trilineatus, 1 panda) live with the Psycho cichlid. He has killed every other fish he's lived with except these cories and my BN. Yesterday though I noticed that the cories dorsal and caudal fins are chewed and torn; time for the cichlid to go ]:|

Before he was in the tank they were quite active, chasing each other, playing in the bubbles, exploring; just normal cories Now they stay in one corner only coming out to eat

Once the mean guy is gone will they get comfortable enough to get back to normal behavior?

I wouldn't mind increasing the size of their school; would that encourage them as well?

Yes, your Corydoras will return to their normal behaviour, once the Cichlid is removed. To liven them up a bit, add more Corydoras of the same type that you already have, but first remove the Cichlid.

Sell him back to the lfs, and get some more of what you have...feed them some tasty blood worms and I'm sure they will be back to their normal selves really soon...

Heck I was afraid it would be something like my metaeswho are just shy and won't come outthen enter the albinos

Well he's gone, back to the lfs. Happy and sad at the same time.

It took no time for the cories to get back into action though I'm very happy about that and still plan to get a few more

Tip for fin mending ... use Myxazin to keep the bacteria at bay for a few days, and feed LOTS of live food. Live Daphnia and Bloodworm makes not only for Corys with big smiles on their faces, but boosts the immune system of all fishes (Corys included) and results in faster healing.

Glad to hear that your cories are back to normal. Be sure to give them plenty of TLC.
