i've got algae over most of my plants. so i've just brought 3 Otocinclus affinis for my 40g - see profile.

just need a bit of information on them - and if they are ok with my other fish.

any info welcome.

Hehe, Cal is king of long posts.

I'll just give a super brief summary...

Ottos are adorable little catfish, they don't really school IMO but do best in groups. They tend to be sensitive, and in order to thrive should have a great algae crop available at all times for munching. If they clean your tank up, make sure to cultivate your own algae rock or something so they don't go hungry. Keep them in a group of 3+ and maintain water quality. Acclimate them slowly and with the lights off to reduce stress, and they should be fine. G/L

Dang, I was just about to post it, too.

Anyhoo, they're pretty much compatible with any fish smaller than 6 inches and length and non-preadatory, which means they should be just fine in your tank. Easy to keep once settled in, etc. Enjoy.
