Since the day I brought her home this BN has claimed the area under the propped strawberry pot as hers. Lately I've noticed that she's been laying there, on her back, still doing the BN sucky-mouth thing. She's actually normally otherwise...good color, eating, comes out to wander and graze. Is she resting or just an odd BN? I couldn't get a great pic, but this sort of gives an idea of what she looks like.

LOL Theresa,

Once again, a great pic

I wouldn't be concerned, the concepts of "up" and "down" seem alien to some BNs; the old one I had, especially when young, who dug himself a "cave" under my driftwood would park himself upside down under it and cling to it just like that.

Sounds like a happy and well adjusted BN (just has that renowned BN personality going is all)

My male BN hangs upside down in his little cave... and only comes out when there are no tank lights on. That is normal.

Perhaps it was asleep sucking on the plant pot and just los its grip and fell off and is lazy so can`t be bothered to go back onto the pot and stayed asleep like that?

That was my first thought. I watched her for a while and she seemed quite content...like I said, still doing the BN-sucky-mouth, just not attached to anything.

Perhaps it was asleep sucking on the plant pot and just los its grip and fell off

Not crazy at all, she normally does clean under the pot upside down. Since it seems this might be a sleeping/resting position maybe she dozed off while cleaning, fell off, and didn't bother to get back up. Silly fish :%)

Plecs are not the smartest fish in the world, and she probably just doesn't realize she's not sucking on anything.
