hi, we seem to have am isue with our main tank that causes both panda and matae cories to turn different shades of brown, the fish seem healthy and happy in other ways, just look off colour. any idea what is causing this and if we should be concerned about it?

Are all the water parameters ok? ALso, what kind of substrate do you have, sometimes fish can look off color because of the substrate they are in.

We'd need to know what the light bulb color is to tell if that could be doing it. Kelvin rating would be best, what color it was listed as(warm white, sunlight..), or the brand might help if it's a bulb manufactured for aquariums.

not sure what rating exactly, one was listed as a beauty tube(1 month old), the other as a daylight tube(2 months old). both 38w on a 4ft 260l tank.
also forgot to mention before its a light sand substrate.

they are nice and white when they 1st go into the tank, they seem to turn brown over time. we did lose one today (the darkest one) but i think that might be the after effects of ich

Corydoras panda and Corydoras metae are supposed to be brown. Some are naturally darker than others, but you should only really worry if they turn a really light color, which will most likely mean they are experiencing some kind of stress.

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.
