Our Emerald cory has laid eggs!!! Now what! We separated the babies and put them in their own tank. What kind of water would they like? How many times should we change the water? How long does it take before they will hatch? Can somebody please give me as much information as possible on how to raise these little bundles of joy?

Hope that helps, since yours has laid eggs, you may want to go about half way down the page, it appears they take 4 days to hatch.

While I haven't bred this fish personally, I can point you to a good article for reference. Check the following link for more information: [link=http://www.scotcat.com/articles/article17.html]http://www.scotcat.com/articles/article17.html" style="COLOR: #808080[/link]

They usually take three or so days to hatch (I think. The article will say for sure, I've read it before.), and benefit from frequent water changes. Small fry foods are necessary once the young have used up their yolk sacs. That's about all I can remember right now. Oh, and you should put in some anti-fungus stuff (Maracyn Blue, I think?) to keep the eggs from getting fungus.

Congratulations on your spawning!

And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."
