For a number of reasons I've been doing some tank rearrangements lately :%)

I moved my 3 pandas to my Endler's breeding tank, not even thinking of the possibility of them eating fry until I saw something in another post about cories & fry. The Endler's tank is moderately planted but I've noticed most newborn fry hang out near the bottom which concerns me.

The tank they moved from now has 4 pygmy cories (that was all the lfs had at the time). They are very, very small...would they eat Endler's fry? Any suggestions, or am I at a hope-for-the-best point right now?

If they can fit in the corys' mouths, they will be eaten.

If not, then they are probably okay, just so long as they can move around a bit.

Endlers are livebearers, and thus emerge fully formed and at a size considerably bigger than egglayer fry. Plus, they'll probably be pretty fast moving. I doubt your Pandas would be able to catch them unless they swam near the bottom and dropped their guard. And most fry aren't that stupid

Thanks for the replies.

I think I'm going to let things stay the way they are right now. I really don't want to stress out either group of cories by moving again.

I recently added more plants to the tank as well as a piece of driftwood with lots of holes & hiding places; hopefully the fry will be smart enough to take advantage of those things.

I agree here I have never seen any of my Cories go out of their way to eat any fry as they use to be with Guppies and never had them even attempt to eat one. If they were layin in the middle of their food then maybe but not on purpose. It's not to say they wouldn't but I have never experienced it personally. I still don't take the chance if I care about the fry surviving.

UPDATE.

If you look in my "Panda Surprises" topic in Bottom Feeder Frenzy, you'll discover just how good some fry are at escaping being eaten. Hopefully, this little guy's luck will hold out
