i got a common pelco(baby around 1-2 inches) to clean off alage from one tank. well after 4 days problem gone for now. i have another tank with a algae problem,so i was wondering if it would be a good idea to add him to that tank and will he take care of the problem, or should i get another baby pelco, or stop being lazy and take it off by hand.

How large is the tank? Also, once again, it's spelled P L E C O, not pelco.

You could move him, and once the algae is under control, return him to the store. Realistically, buying a pleco every few weeks to clean off the algae is not going to help you--you'll need to find the underlying cause of the algae and eliminate it, otherwise you will keep on getting the stuff.

A few otos or a smaller variety of pleco like bristlenose would clean up brown algae very well and not take up as much space. 2nd I'd try phosphate/silicate removers. I would change the stocking of my tank until I could include some algae eater or plants before I'd use chemicals.
