have you ever encountered a peppered cory or any cories think that he or she is a mid-dweller?? its just funny to look at... rarely touching the gravel almost always on the middle of the tank and when feeding on the gravel...act like a mid-dweller...just the mouth touching and not the body.

Tankie;

Yes, I have. They're quite funny. My albino Peppered Corydoras won't ever touch the gravel, only (occasionally) resting on some bogwood I've got in there.

Cheers,
Tarky

Heh, you want to see my Pandas.

Some of them take food at the surface if they're in the mood. Two of them like to surf the underside of my bogwood arch upside down like Synodontis. Another sits on my Amazon Sword leaves swaying in the current just for the fun of it, like an underwater version of a budgie on a swing. Several others go powerhead bubble surfing. They've also taken to using my Bacopa as a climing frame. One sleeps buried in the Java Moss, looking like a very dead catfish to the uninitiated, until I lift the aquarium lid and put food in, whereupon it's instant wake up time - "Ooh, Daddy's serving breakfast!"

Then there's the spawning activity. Multiple Panda Keystone Kops style chases through the plants at warp speed, looking as if someone's filmed them and replayed the movie at quadruple speed. Sometimes the males have an identity problem when they're out of their heads on testosterone and try forming a T position with the Cardinals. That's VERY funny when that happens.

Then there was the one that had indigestion. It went up for air, but forgot to "break wind" at the back end as Corys usually do when expelling the spent air from the gut. So it settled on the bottom, with its tail slowly lifting upwards upon account of the now slight positive bouyancy of the rear end, and when the tail lifted, the fish kept turning round looking at its own tail as if to say "Who put the helium in my food?" Eventually it let forth a stream of bubbles and normal equilibrium was resumed.

The comedy slapstick moments my Pandas have provided in the three years or so I've had them have been almost too numerous to mention. This is just the selected highlights.
