ok, i dont have pics atm

but i can describe him for ya

his head is spotted, his dorselfin is clear, and the rays split (sort of like a crowntail betta, only they dont extend) his lower half is striped.

the spots and stripes are dark brown, almost black, and the rest of the body color is between light tan/sandy brown, to a warmer oak brown,

please tell me who i have

What kind of catfish is this? Regardless, a picture would be the only way to get a solid identification.

And when he gets to Heaven, to Saint Peter he will tell: "One more Marine reporting, Sir! I've served my time in Hell."

If you didn't find him at the planetcatfish site & without a picture, it's nearly impossible to get the exact identification of the catfish.

It sounds like an L-147, a common Peckoltia contaminant usually found with Clown Plecos.

Here's a picture:

ok ,apparently he changes color, at some times thestripes go all up his body onto his head, and he gets spots on his dorsel fin, other times he has spots on his face and the dorselfin is clear..im gunna look at your pic again..

*nope, i peaked at mine and compaired it with the photo, and those bigger spots up tords the head arnt there, and the spots on the head of the pick, only appear on mine's face*

Getting a proper identification is going to be nearly impossible without a photo of the fish.

You know what your fish looks like better than we do. If you can't get a photo of it, then start searching [link=here]http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/numbers/4.php" style="COLOR: #FFFFFF[/link].

Is it that hard to get a picture? Even a cell phone camera would suffice...anything to give us a basic idea of what the heck you've got. I know you've posted tank pictures in prior posts, so I know at the very least you can procure a camera of SOME kind

The long way, of course, is to start from here:
