Check your thread on PC... It's definitely P. maccus, also known as a clown pleco.

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.

There's no way it's a baryancistrus sp. (gold nugget), and candy striped plecos are, as stated, peckoltias, which usually have more upfront dorsal finnage and stouter heads. To get a positive ID, you'd probably have to get a photo of him rasping on the glass, as panaqolus and peckoltia sp. differ greatly in tooth structure (not teeth, but rather, bony plates/protrusions).

I believe modern literature no longer refers to the species as a memeber of the panaque genus, bur rather as "panaqolus maccus". Driftwood is not neccesary, but fiber is. Bi daily feedings of squash, cucmber, and zuchini is recommended.

My lfs got in a bunch of those too. I would say it is Panaque maccus or commonly called the clown pleco. They get about 4" and definitely need driftwood. They also eat various types of vegetables. There's an article about them on planetcatfish.

The best place for ID'ing the pleco or any catfish would be planetcatfish.com They are crazy over catfish.

Thats where I get my ID of my plecos./:'

There it is..

Looks like a candy stripe to me

Or I should say, if given the choice between BN and Candy stripe, it's definetely the latter.
