(gold nugget), and candy striped plecos are, as stated, peckoltias, which usually have more upfront dorsal finnage and stouter heads. To get a positive ID, you'd probably have to get a photo of him rasping on the glass, as panaqolus and peckoltia sp. differ greatly in tooth structure (not teeth, but rather, bony plates/protrusions). They get about 4" and definitely need driftwood. They also eat various types of vegetables. There's an article about them on planetcatfish.
