Obviously it will have to be a smaller species of pleco. I would like it to be an algae and wood eating pleco. I am currently leaning towards a Clown Pleco. Any suggestions would be great. |

How many fish you have already? A BN would do wonders for algae. Also, if could find one, I really like the L-129 sribble pleco. But they are pretty hard to find, and seems they like a little more meaty food rather than veggie, but thats just my experience. They will eat veggies, just seems to prefer prawns and bloodworms. |

"colombia" is actually a recently very common import. Most stocklists of well supplied LFSs should have them. They are, however, quite terrible at eating anything green. Panaque/olus sp. are the only loricariids capable of digesting wood. Thusly, only fish hailing from those respective genera are suitable fish for your tank. Panaque grow far too large for a 25 gallon, thus, only panaqolus such as the clown pleco you posted about, would work. |

I called around today, and it looks like I'll be getting the clown pleco. Although I would have liked an algae eating pleco, none of the local stores has any bristlenoses. C6R, I have 6 Platies and 4 Peppered Cories in the 25 gallon. The dimensions of the tank are 30"x12.5"x16". |

I plan on feeding shrimp pellets, algae wafers, and possibly some flakes. I would also like to feed vegetables. How exactly do you prepare vegetables for plecos? |

I usually cut what I want up, zuchinni, cucumber, eggplant etc..and well some say try to take the seeds out, because they cause water problems..anyway, I heat them in the microwave in water for about 30-45 seconds, stick a fork with a string on it, (no worry about dipping your hand in the water! just pull it out!) them, drop em and take them out about 12 hours later! and there ya go! |
