i have a tank that is about to go on the overstocked side, however after going over the stocking, the tank is short on bottom feeder like cory. i figure the 2 plecos won't do the job. and the clown loaches will have to be moved soon.what about a small school of corys like 3,

I don't understand what you mean by "do the job". You don't need a bottom feeder. And as for cleaning, many do more harm then good. If you are already on the verge of overstocking, then you shouldn't add more fish, regardless of what level of water they live in. Besides, being schooling fish, cories should be kept in 6+ groups. There are very few instances where this rule can be broken, rescueing is the only one that comes to mind right now.

And I don't get what you mean by the 2 plecos. 2 plecos, regardless of species, produce much more waste than 3 cories.

Really, you have to rephrase your question, because I'm not following you, and I don't think anyone else is either. But, I hope I helped out a littel bit at least.

How about when you, move the clown loaches out, get 2 beared cories, I know these can be kept in pairs, but are bigger, than the average cory, about 12 cm. Just an idea

Corydoras don't clean your tank & you must do the gravel vac.
They will eat any food that falls at the bottom, but you can prevent this by feeding less.
Corydoras like to stay in schools of at least 6 of the same species & if you don't have space for 6, don't add 2 or 3.
