Yes, I would say you'd be able to put a spotted raphael in there. They will eat basically anything you put in the tank (including small fish), but they relish small live foods such as worms. They are very nocturnal, and you're pretty unlikely to see them during the day.

I have a spotted raph in my tank that stays in it's cave all day. Sometimes, if I'm lucky, I'll see it come out. It is a very beautiful fish and I've had mine since I started my tank two years ago! You can sometimes here her "talking", it's pretty neat.

I have a spotted raphael catfish that I haven't seen in months. I believe Koi Keeper said they become much less shy as they get bigger though.

Yep size, (and rate of growth), and the fact they they are different species

And yes, when they do finally get big (4 full inches plus) they will come out more often. There was a time I didn't see mine for almost a whole year!

If they can fit in the raphael's mouth they will be eaten.

I have 2 spotted's and 1 stripped and they are great catfish. The stripped deffiently grows faster and bigger then the spotted's and the stripped comes out a lot more then the spotted's do (has to be pitch dark for the spotted's to come out). Great fish though and so far, my tiger barbs and little cherry barbs have not been eatin along with my little bumble bee catfish

Ive got a striped. He picks a spot and wont move during the day. He then goes frantic at night and then goes back to that same spot and stays there during the day. He will move to a new spot every week or so .
