After careful observation I found this is where his head touches the heater. Why, when it burns him, would my plec choose there as a hiding spot, there are many other spots with better hiding potential and how do I stop him using that spot? |

Just an idea matey? ![]() [span class="edited"][Edited by 2004-07-15 06:19][/span] |

Try putting some sort of current in another part of the tank, or get a heater guard, which may be available at your LFS. -------------------------------------------- The aquarist is one who must learn the ways of the biologist, the chemist, and the veterinarian. |

Once he realizes that there are other hiding places for him where he won't get burned, he'll hide there instead. And a heater guard will be good too, just in case. ![]() I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash. |

It might work in this case. Might not... I have a rafael that did the same thing. I put a cave in the tank, and he was so used to his spot he didn't find it. So I grabbed him one day and put him in his cave. Hasn't used the heater since. Koi Empty chairs at empty tables, the room silent, forlorn. |
