That's the size of the ones we sell as "Small Kuhli Loaches". We also sell large ones that are a bit bigger.

How large were you expecting them to be?

4 inches when grown i did indeed excpect them to be quite small but it just shocked me how small i also egcpected them to be atleast as round as a marker or crayon because these were hard to see they were so small

I was surprised how small my yoyos were when I got them, but they quickly grew fat and round.

They should definitely get bigger. Here's a pic of two I bought last September, they're quite a bit longer and filled out now:

That's definitely a regular ruler. I took the picture below a couple days ago. Two of the regular (striped) kuhlis are those from the other photo, just don't ask me which ones Actually all of these were purchased around the same time.

I got the impression from your original post that you bought only one...kuhlis like other loaches enjoy the company of their own kind. They tend to be nocturnal but with friends and once comfortable in the tank they can be seen more often during the day.

You could have 6 Kuhlis.
They are a great fish. I have one that is 4 inches, and hes about 1/4 tall through the body and almost as wide.
They are a pretty small fish, but neat and fun to watch
You should ask Theresa to post her famous pic "The End" for you

I'm sure the ones you saw are quite healthy and fine, and will grow to be nice and fat given the chance, but they are still babies...just think how small human babies are in comparison to adultsand most of us grow up just finebut, i understand being so astonished at how small they actually are.

I haven't had khulis in soooooo long Those are so cute Theresa it makes me want to hunt some down for my 125 Heck it's become a bottom feeder fiasco anyways, what harm would 6 more do Ya'll think they would be ok with my assortment of cories, clown loaches, and bns?

best of luck, heidi michelle
