Plecos are usually night feeders. The fin carriage might be due to stress. Check your water perameters, do a water change. Try some lightly blanched zucchini squash at night before you go to bed..take it out first thing in the morning. What type of pleco is it? Seems to be rather young and might not be eating as much as you think it should because of its size.

dont fret, i never see mine eat, i only saw my big pleco eat once a while when he was in the 20 high, my clown? i have never seen him eat, but he must because his size has certinly doubled just build him a rock wall, and plant the areas around the wall densly, so he can come out of the rocks once and a while, alos, get a ubbler on that tank, you forgot to grab the heater and filter from me before you left

yes, blanches zuchinni will do the trick. cut some zuchinni into discs or quarters of discs depending on the size of the pleco. thow them in a pot of water and cook it a few minutes to get it soft and get rid of any impurities.

then, let it cool, tie the sucker to a rock or plant anchor and let it sink to the bottom and leave it over night. you can also get hakiri(or however you spell it) algea discs, my BN pleco loves them.

it is prolly stressed from the sounds of it perhaps? any changes in the water or tank inhabitants? try a water change and some nice zuchinni and see if that helps.

also, as a occasional treat to get it eating you could try some shrimp or carnivore pellets, my BN loves em and chases off my corys to get at them. not good all the time for its health, but if it wont eat anything, might try it.

p.s. does it have driftwood with it in the tank??? that might also be a problem, the plecos need drift or bog wood to rasp on, it helps them digest food...also, they love algae. i cant remember what the people here call it, but you take a plastic aquarium plant and stick it in a container with water and let the plastic rock or plant or driftwood get all covered in green fuzz, then stick it in your tank, the plecos LOVE it
