recently ive started to notice my clown loaches doin weird things. i have three and they wont let me introduce more, but thats not the weird thing. i know that they "play dead" sometimes but how often and for how long? cus mine has been hiding in a ceramic log and just doin it for ages and the other one gets vertical above my filter intake and wedges itself in between the glass and the filter tube. is this normal?

The Clown Loach who is jamming in between the filter and glass may be doing this as a result of not having enough hiding places.

The one playing dead for ages, is it still breathing normal and showing no symptoms of being ill?

If it is breathing fine and no illness then it is probably just playing dead and resting there during the day.

my tank is roughly a 50 gal tank and i have just full lighting. i keep forgettin to check the wattage wen the lights cool so i keep burning my fingers and getting nowere. but i have plant lights that i bought at my lfs. they are specific aquarium plant globes. i have a big amazon sword plant and sum other little ones and 2 ceramic logs enclosed by plants. my problem is that i havent had the money or time to get new plants as i bought the new tank and didnt have enough to fill my new tank. more is on the way. the one that plays dead is alwyas breathing norm and everything but he actually struggles to keep on his side he constantly has to flip his fins to go from upright to on his side. the one hiding near the filter is probably just trying to hide as you say but i was just wondering if the whole vertical thing was good for it??

It won`t matter if it upsidedown or on its side, it just floating there more or less. Plecs always sleep upside down and stuff so dont worry bout that

I have a clown loach who likes to rest vertically in a gap between two rocks. There are plenty of other places for him to go but he just seems to like that one! So I wouldn't worry...

i know this is off subject off the loaches but i used to have a rainbow shark that would rest vertical with its nose down towards the gravel as it was propped between an aquariam ornament. i always thought that was weird.
