i was doing a gravel vac in my tank (in a PO'd mood) and i didnt see the cory in the corner, and i started to gravel vad the corner (it was in the back, next to the filter, behind a bunch of plants)and the cory freaking went up the tube.

Thank god i ripped the tube out of there fast enough.

Poor Corydoras, better be safe than sorry & next time check the corners well before you vacuum.

Never mess with the fish tank when you are upset or mad

I'm glad that you were able to react fast enough though

Next time you are upset/mad, instead of vaccuming, just sit and watch the tank...it will be much better for everyone involved...

I always shoo my fish away from the gravel vac with my free hand just in case. Because if I don't, the Pandas and the Otocinclus are apt to treat the gravel vac as a new toy, or in the case of the Otocinclus, mistakenly believe that they'll find some nice tasty algae on it and try sucking the bell-shaped piece of lemonade bottle I've used as the 'business end' of my 50p DIY gravel vac. Yes, one has to be careful.

Cories are the worst for this. Every time I do a water change the cories seem to want to come and have a look at what's going on.
They remind me of those birds that follow the farmer's tractors when they're plowing a field

Multiply that by a factor of about x10 for my Pandas Tankie ... give you an idea of the fun and games I look forward to with every gravel vac
