do yoyo loach eat snails? i never had a snail problem, but i have a lot of small pond snails and trumpet snails in my tank now, the lfs guy said the yoyo will eat snails so i got 1

my tank is only 29 gallon so clown loach will get too big for me, and puffer will be a conflict with the angel i have.

and also, does anybody know how good black mollies are at eating algae? and do only the BLACK ones eat algae?

I've heard they eat snails as well, but when my sister had some a couple years ago, they never touched any of the snails in her tank.

They will eat the Snails, but if they find food, they prefer the fish food than the Snails.
You have to leave them hungry, so that they'll eat the Snails & not the fish food.

they'll eat the snails..even after u feed them...mine wont stop eating..

Try picking or siphoning the larger adult snails out by hand, and letting yoyo knock off the babys. This works the fastest.

Mine wld eat snails with or without fish food.

I even add snails to my tank just so the yoyos can hunt them down. They love snails. I had to move them because they were trying to eat my applesnails. Loaches can't eat trumpet snails very well though because of the door on the shell and how hard they are. They'll lower the population but it takes them a long while to eat them all. They have to surprise the snails before they close the door on their shell or harass them to the point they starve in their shell. Occasionally loaches will drill holes through the shells of snails with doors but trumpet snails are much harder than applesnails.
