So far two 55g tanks....(working on finding a used 125g when fish grow, or want different varieties)

So far 4 cichlids (Eatheater will make 5)and a small bristlenose in the 55g cichlid tank.

Will the 2 Bala Sharks and 2 "insane Pictus Cats" be OK with the cichlids? (dither fish?)

At the moment there are 5 of Sharks and 5 of the Crazy schizoid(Pictus)Cats in my other "peaceful" community tank of about 20 fish)

the cichlids are about 3 inches each, the insane pictus cats are 4 1/2 to 5 inches, the top/midwater Sharks are 4.5 inches

The sharks and the Pictus not a problem with each other.
As the pictus gets larger they can become rather shy. They do prefer there own company at least 3-4 and you will see them more often. What you also have to remember that they have huge mouths and will devour any thing in the tank it can get into its mouth 20-25mm fish just a snack for them.

They also MUST have plenty of caves and hiding spots away from the lights of the tank.

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info

I have to agree - Pictus cats prefer being in a shoal and are predatory - being active in dim lighting. Everything (except the sharks) are bottom dwellers and I'd consider other mid/top level swimmers personally but......

i think all those would possibly go together. but it's a 55gal. that might be too many fish in one tank. it depends on what kind of cichlids u have.
