Seems liek everyone has forgotten about the cories, normally i wouldnt bother touching the subject but because the poster so "rudely" reacted to advice about the other fish i cant resist.
the more rams you put in the tank the less floor space if left for the cories. cories dont see territory lines all they see is a spot they havent checked for food yet. when the rams do pair off and decide to breed the cories will be show where the lines are regardless on how they feel about it.
anothe rpoint about the cories, they will be much more active with more of thier own kind, haveing one of these and one of those leaves them scared and typicly hideing. more cories, same kinds of cories and you will see more activity out of them and alot more fun to watch. by the shoaling is thier natural defense against attacks to confuse preditors, say a couple pissed off rams guarding territory.
there are more to fish then " will they fit " and no offence but you really need to understand this when dealing with cichlids, especielly cichlids.
Anyway thats my 2 cents and im impressed anyone took the time to help you after that out burst, you should feel lucky the people on this site see beyond it and are still willing to help.
( wont be surprised if this post is deleted within a hr, my apologies if i broke an rules, wasnt intentional. i tried to keep it clean and civil )

to answer ur question males will fight over territory as will females jsut not to the same extent they do need cover n places to hide n to b able to establish there own territories 4 will b ok i nthe tank provided it is set up so they can each have there own space n not b outcompeted for that territory it is best to have 1 male for each or every 2 females i personally have kept jsut males together but in larger tanks that were heavily planted but they still locked lips with blue german rams there is a gold version that i have found to b not as aggressive ime anyway it is ur choice what u keep in ur tanks but for the welfare of the fish ill mention that rams r very sensitive to water chemistry n the more u add the more u much watch as for male or female colour isnt everything the finage tells most of the time the spikes on the dorsal fin of the males the first few rays n much larger n protude over the webbing sorta speak the females r slightly more rounded in body but there dorsal fins dont have the protruding spikes if ur still unsure jsut email me pictures of them n ill try to id them for u hope this helps

Hi Princess,
I dont mean to comment on a topic outside of your question, which I will answer first, by saying, indeed, 2 more rams would look great in your tank!! They are fabulous fish! I wish I could fit 2 german blues in my tank, but alas no room.
On the other note, heres something you said that puzzled me:
4 rainbows 2 turqoise 2 bosemani ( must be kpet in pairs not schools)

I think, if I am not mistaken, that all species of rainbowfish are strongly schooling fish. I think this means the bigger the school the better. Im not criticizing you, I keep just 1 boesmani and 3 ornates, mostly cuz I cant find any females!! ]:|, However, I do believe that these fish are happiest in a large school, if the tank size allowed probably of 20 or more. BUT you might know something I dont know. Could you possibly explain to me why you believe these fish should be kept in pairs rather than schools, and tell me where you got your female rainbows (if you have females)! You are so lucky if you do!
This just puzzles me is all.
Thanks for your time if you respond.
-Koran.

My only concern with your tank would be the angels.... what size are they? As they get older and into breeding form you may find they dont appreciate the company of the others in the tank. I guess you can deal with that when it happens, some like to avoid it completely though.

*puts admin shoes on*
You cant ask a stocking question and expect people to take no consideration for the other fish you have in the tank. It is a vital part of stocking a tank. Speaking to people the way you have been in this thread will eventually lead to no one wanting to help you. Please keep that in mind...

Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes. That way you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

It's not a Black Ghost Knife, that's one of the four angels.

I would say that you would be safe with adding 2 more rams... plus they look a lot prettier with more in there! I am just a little bit weary.. since the Blue rams stay small.. i would keep an eye on your BGK fish.. as when he grows up more.. your smaller fish may disappear.. but thats just a helpful side note i am sure you knew. But as i said above no more than 2 and you should be alright

ok well here ya;ll go...

4 angels, 1 pearl scale, 1 marble, 1 blue blusher 1 black ghost. 4 rainbows 2 turqoise 2 bosemani ( must be kpet in pairs not schools) 1 common pleco about 4 inches in length ( not a keeper just wanted to make sure i wouldnt kill them any more) 2 blue rams, 1 green cory and 2 pandas

so again i asked about rams not about anything else... so if someone will just answer my question instead of trying to tell me what else to do id be much happier.

When you ask a stocking question, it's not unreasonable for people to ask whether you're talking about a 5" Bristlenose Pleco or a 13" Common. Nor is it unreasonable to ask whether you're talking about a 2" Dwarf Neon Rainbow or a 4" Crimson Spot. It would help to know if it's planted, too.

Of course, I also don't think that people should have started talking about the cories when you asked about rams, but "not going into detail because of people like you" is just kind of rude.

Well that certainly wasn't very nice...I won't even bother asking if they're German or Bolivian rams

Sure four rams could live in a 55g. Put a dozen in if you're not concerned about stock.

Off to
to learn to answer the question not give opinions on other things that arent warranted
and try not to be helpful

ok not to be rude, but i asked about the rams, nothing else. i dont feel like having hte fights with everyone on here about how i keep my tank. i just wanted an opinion on wether or not 4 rams could live in a 55. as for the cories they are fine and people on here need to learn to answer the question not give opinions on other things that arent warranted.

What type of plec and what type of rainbows? That info would help with figuring space.

I do agree that your cories would probably be happier in a larger group.

im not sure about the rams, but i think a few more corys would definitly help the tank. corys perfer to be in groups of 5 or 6.
