After my questions thread quite a while ago I finally got myself some African shelldwellers. I have only had them a few weeks but I seem to be keeping them ok as I have had no losses to date.

First I got some juvi Neolamprogus Multifasciatus which are the worlds smallest cichlid and not at all easy to photograph.

After I managed not to kill the multi's, I though I would get some more Africans.
I got 5 juvi Neolamprologus "Princess" Brichardi.

Also my favourite, a colony of 5 Neolamprologus Caudopunctatus or "Punks".
These are absolutely gorgeous with their big eyes and pearly scales.

very nice photos. I have concerns about the brichardi though. when a pair forms they pretty much kill everything in the tank. Thought i would mention this as you seem to be trying yur best to prevent such a thing from happening.

Wow, thanks for the tip. I have a spare tank set up and was wondering what I would put in it. I might just bear it in mind for Brichardi.

ooOOoo I'm so jealous!

I've wanted some for a very long time, ever since I was on a quest for something to put in the 10g. Did you get them from your LFS or a breeder?

I think you should try and get them breeding .

^_^

I got mine from an auction in Brisbane. There seems to be a few breeders around there. Auctions are usually announced in the SE Qld forum http://www.qldaf.com/forum/

I have also seen some in the for sale section of that forum but usually the breeders are closer to Caboolture which is a fair hike for me to drive, so the auction at Spring Hill suited me just fine.

The auction ran non-stop (they just kept changing the auctioneers) from 4pm to 1am!
