50 gallon breeder tanks are best. breeding involves including the fry, so a 30 gallon isn't really enough.

dont forget that angels not long grow long, they grow in hight, so a 12 inch fish (verticle) wont fit in a 10 gallon

Maybe a 40g but I'd go with a 50g minimum. I just don't believe in putting angels in less than a 29g anyway partially because of their height and then to add 2 and have them raise fry I'd definitely go with a fairly large tank.

I agree with everybody else, however it would be best to get an even larger tank than that. 50gals should be an absolute MINIMUM as you may find yourself with around 60+ fry on your hands. Imagine all those when they grow up in just a 50gal. So, I suggest go even bigger!

Breed shrimp. Alot of people setup 10g planted tanks and put a little colony of cherry red shrimp or crystal red shrimp in there...they are pretty easy to breed, i have heard.

If you have a proven pair, you can usually breed them in a 30 tall. There shouldn't really be anything else in the tank, though. Some people use corys or dwarf corys as a clean up crew that won't eat fry and probably wont get eaten by the adult angels. Having a grow out tank will also be necessary. I'd get a metal stand that can support the 30 gal tank, and then put a 20 long on the bottom for growing out fry. Do you plan to sell the fry once they reach a good size? Will you cull them for further breeding? Breeding takes a lot of thinking ahead, so make sure you have your bases covered. If you plan on keeping any of the baby angels, more and larger tanks will certainly become very necessary.

Hoping that there must be a word for everything I mean...

The comment about a proven pair brings up another issue...is that what you would try to purchase or are you thinking of getting a group of juveniles and letting them pair up on their own? That makes a big difference as well.

This is off topic but you might want to think about your current tank situation...going by what's listed in your profile those tanks are very overstocked

beside, the overstocking,m if you want to become a breeder, sell your tanks now, and start over.

get around standard 50 gallon breeding/show tank and line them up on a custom wooden stand that is easily made. that way you can breed mulitple fish.

did u try wild bettas, for a challange try a betta marcostoma, they have one of the wierdest breeding stlyes, and is a very good money bussiness. however a pair is easliy over 400 usd.

dont forget that breeding fish is a different issue than fishkeeping, just remember that with any breeding u are going to have fry and each needs potiental gallon size consideration.

if breeding is ur pashion, i would sell the over stocked tanks to get them out of the way, and focus solo on breeding.
