Is this for conditioning a ram/rams for breeding, or just to feed them every day? Normally, cichlid pellets or flakes are sufficient, with some live food thrown in every couple of days. If you want to get really fancy, you can feed mostly live foods of different types. Rams will eat most things that fit in their tiny mouths, so you don't have to worry about getting something they'll like.

Just for everyday good health. I do feed frozen blood warms and brine shrimp once a week. What kind of Cichlid pellets would you recommend.

Any type that is small enough will work. The only thing with most cichlid pellets is that they are often too large for a ram's small mouth to grab it! Try the smallest kind you can find, or go with flakes. They are much easier for a ram to swallow.

try a mix of small sinking and floating pellets like the stuff in "oscar grow" and give them a treat ever once in a while like brine shrimp. they'll go nuts of that stuff i use frozen and usually one my fish will latch on to the chunk and the others will chase him around sucking up the left overs. it's quite a show

they usually hang out in the middle to bottom levels in the tank and prefer to feed on the sinking pellets

My rams sparkle with TetraBits from TetraMin. It has color enhancers that really seem to help. Bits are fed in the morning. The fish really come alive when I feed blackworms. They gobble the critters like little pigs.

newlife spectrum cichlid formula. its a sinking pellet thats tiny tiny and my bolivian ram has no trouble eating it. he picks it up off the bottom and inhales them like they are candy. it also has a hormone free color enhancer.
