I've done that setup before and it worked out just fine. You shouldn't have any problems at all with those fish. Since neither gets very big, you can also easily add schooling fish like tetras or other small peaceful cichlids like chessboard cichlids and apistos.

i have had this tank set up for ages now,
it has Black widows, neon tetras, corys, a BN and the rams in it.
i might sel, the neons and get the flags and either checkerboards, apistogramma veijita or keyholes.
