I love the way Bolivian Rams look, their personalities and I hear they are great community fish. However, I have no idea if they mean these are great fish for a FW community tank that is not a Cichlid tank. My tank stock is listed below and would like some input if 2 Bolivian Rams would get along with my other fish. All of them are Juvenilles.

55 Gallon Tank

(1) Golden Rod Angel
(2) Sunset Dwarf Gouramis
(2) Neon Blue Dwarf Gouramis
(2) Opaline Gouramis
(2) Swordtails
(1) Lyretail
(3) Sailfin Mollies
(6) Zebra Danios

BTW, the Zebra's will be going to my 20 Gallon next time I get more fish which is going t be in a few weeks.

~Thanks

You should be fine. Rams are really pieceful and a bottom dwelling fish. You don't have any other bottom dwelling fish right now.

I would like to eventually add some CL's or Cory's. Would that be an issue?

i say dont get CLs, they will eventually get too big plus they need a small school of 5 or so to stay happy. with that in mind ur tank cant handle it when they are mature

Wouldnt expect any issues what so ever with that stock list. a nice school of cories would go well and shouldnt bother the rams at all. The biggest concern i think would be getting food to the rams. all those hungry mouth not much is gona get down there. You may have to resort to a feeding tube or feeding one side of the tank then feeding the rams on the other as soon as the other fish are distracted. Wafers and sinking pellets might also work.

anyway as far as aggression goes you should be fine. Enjoy them they are full of personalty.

I have Bolivian rams in the 5ft tank and they are scared of nothing when it come to keep away from my litle area. They can be very colourful but this depends on their breeding. Mine never worry about the CLs and your 55gl is way to small unless you want to transfer them to a bigger tank later.

I put a small CL in my Betta tank he fattened up very quickly on snails and never looked back when he went into the 5ft tank

Have a look in [link=My Profile] http://www.fishprofiles.com/forums/member.aspx?id=1935[/link] for my tank info
